Tasting notes

Woodforde's Wherry

3.8

A golden syrupy flavour malt with a hint of grapefruit: favourite session bitter from the heart of Broadland (CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain Gold Award 1996, Bronze Award 2005)

Caledonian Deuchars IPA

3.8

A refreshing session beer from Scotland, with a golden colour and hints of citrus (CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain 2002)

Sharp's Doom Bar

4.0

From a modern (1994) Cornish brewery, this copper-coloured beer is a a fine mix of malt & fruitiness, but with a satisfyingly bitter finish, making it extremely moreish. (CAMRA Bronze Award, Champion Beer of Britain 2006)

Adnams Explorer

4.3

A blonde beer, using two American hops, that packs real grapefuity bitterness (CAMRA Silver Award, Champion Beer of Britain 2009)

Timothy Taylor Landlord

4.3

A classic strong pale ale, dry and full flavoured with a spicy character (Great British Beer Festival Supreme Champion 1999)

Marston's Pedigree

4.5

Biscuity malt, spicy hops and the famous sulphury note from Trent Valley spring water combine to make this classic pale ale, still brewed in the oak casks of the Burton Unions

Woodforde's Norfolk Nog

4.6

Especially welcome as a Winter brew, this almost black Old Ale has a velvety texture with a hint of liquorice (CAMRA Bronze Award, Champion Old Ale of Britain, 2003)

Shepherd Neame Spitfire

4.7

The underlying maltiness is tinged with a subtle hint of toffee and the fruity spiciness of Kentish hops

Morland (Greene King)
Old Speckled Hen

4.5
(draught)
5.2
(bottles)

Combining two of my passions (MGs and beer) this rich, golden amber beer with a hint of toffee but gratifyingly dry for such a strong ale, was first brewed in Abingdon to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the MG car factory
